Scope and information you provide

This policy describes MotorcycleBackpack.net, a general-audience editorial resource about motorcycle backpacks. John Morris is the site’s editorial contact; privacy requests can be sent to johnmorrissales@gmail.com.

If you email us, we receive the email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. The site currently uses email rather than an on-site contact form. Our calculators process packing weights, laptop dimensions and budgets in your browser; we do not intentionally transmit those tool entries to retailers.

Technical and service data

Hosting and security services may process IP addresses, browser and device information, requested and referring pages, timestamps and diagnostic data to deliver the site, prevent abuse and investigate errors. An IP address may also indicate approximate location. Cookies and similar technologies may be involved in these services.

Requests for third-party product images or advertising resources can disclose technical request information to those providers. We have not added a separate visitor-analytics service in this update. Hosting diagnostics and advertising measurement, where operating, may provide performance or interaction data; this is not a claim that browsing generates no data.

Google advertising

The site includes Google AdSense code. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Google’s advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor’s activity on this site and/or other websites, subject to applicable settings and consent requirements.

Third parties may place and read cookies or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar technologies for advertising and measurement. Availability of ads and privacy messages depends on the advertising service and visitor settings; this policy does not mean personalized advertising is enabled for every visitor.

Manage personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings. Read How Google uses advertising technologies and Google Privacy & Terms.

Affiliate links and external websites

Affiliate links may identify our publication to a retailer and support attribution of qualifying purchases. Retailers may process clicks, purchases and cookies under their own policies. We do not receive your retailer password or payment-card information through an affiliate link.

Product images may load from Amazon’s servers. Manufacturer and retailer websites have independent privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information or purchasing.

Purposes, providers and disclosure

Information may be used to deliver and secure pages, answer correspondence, investigate corrections, manage privacy requests and support advertising or affiliate measurement when enabled. Hosting, security, email and advertising providers process information to supply their services. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or address abuse.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information, but no internet service can guarantee complete security. Correspondence and relevant records are retained as needed for the request, operational purposes and applicable obligations, then deleted or de-identified where appropriate. Provider-controlled retention follows the provider’s settings and policies.

Location and international processing

Providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Their applicable transfer arrangements and notices govern their processing. We do not claim all data remains in one country.

Privacy rights and choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, receive a portable copy, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Where required, consent is used for nonessential advertising technologies; responding to correspondence and securing the site may rely on other applicable legal grounds, such as legitimate interests or legal obligations.

EEA, UK and Swiss visitors may also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. Use available privacy controls and Contact MotorcycleBackpack.net to make a request.

Residents of some U.S. states may have rights to opt out of sale or sharing as defined by state law and targeted advertising. Advertising-related disclosure can fall within those definitions even without a payment for personal information. You may email a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” or targeted-advertising opt-out request. Available rights, verification and exceptions depend on the law that applies. We do not promise an automated opt-out that this website has not implemented.

We may need proportionate information to verify and handle a request; please avoid sending sensitive documents unless necessary and specifically requested. If a request is declined, you may ask us to reconsider or appeal where applicable. You may use an authorized agent where permitted, subject to appropriate verification. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Children and policy changes

This is a general-audience resource and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.

We may revise this notice as the site or services change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Read our Cookie Policy and Privacy Choices for practical controls and request instructions.
