MOTORCYCLEBACKPACK

Packing Weight

Add your actual bag, laptop, water and gear weights in kilograms or pounds.

Find what is contributing to your carried weight

Weigh the empty backpack, laptop with its case, filled reservoir and remaining gear separately. Select kilograms or pounds, then use that unit for every field. Include the reservoir itself in its filled weight; the liquid capacity printed on a bladder does not include its hardware or the rest of your drinking system.

For example, an empty bag of 1.3kg, cased laptop of 1.8kg, filled reservoir of 2.2kg and other gear of 0.7kg produce a 6kg inventory total. This example demonstrates the addition only. It is not a recommended load, and the calculator does not judge whether that weight suits your body, equipment or motorcycle journey.

Put chargers, pouches, rain covers, food and spare clothing in the other-gear figure. Count each object once: if you weigh the laptop already inside its sleeve, do not add that sleeve again. Enter 0 for a category you are not carrying; an empty field does not stand for zero.

Use the total to compare packing plans. Reweigh the remaining gear after moving suitable items to bike luggage, then repeat a stationary fitting over your riding jacket. Weight alone cannot show helmet interference, an awkward rigid object or a badly adjusted harness; those require checking with the actual packed bag.
