Those figures are not equivalent—the imperial set converts to approximately 41.9 × 24.1 × 14.6cm—and the page gives no laptop screen-size limit. Ask why you need ten litres of expansion

A wide capacity range is useful only if it corresponds to something you carry. Compare your ordinary commute with the occasional journey that needs more room, then pack both configurations. If you will use the expanded form almost every day, judge it as your everyday bag.
