Motorcycle backpacks with helmet storage: choose for the walk after parking
Choose helmet storage by how you will carry your helmet after parking and what else must fit at the same time. An expandable compartment, an external carrier and a visor sleeve are different features. Do not assume a helmet-carry feature is approved for riding with an externally attached spare helmet.

The simplest brief is carrying your own helmet when you walk away from the bike. You may want both hands free for shopping, a train journey or the walk into work. That is an off-bike carrying requirement, and it is the scope of this guide.
Transporting a second helmet while riding is a separate requirement. Check the bag manufacturer's instructions for that exact use and an appropriate motorcycle-luggage option if necessary. A photograph of a helmet attached to a backpack does not establish permission for every riding situation.
Enclosed storage trades against cargo space
Kriega describes the MAX28's expandable main compartment as suitable for carrying a full-face helmet around town. Expansion makes it a candidate for off-bike helmet carrying, but your laptop accessories, lunch or purchases still need somewhere to go.
Test your own helmet rather than relying on a generic full-face description. Shell sizes, peaks, spoilers and communication units change the shape. Check that the compartment closes without forcing the helmet, and use the helmet maker's care guidance when deciding how to separate it from other belongings.

Alpinestars lists a built-in helmet carrier on the Tech Aero, and OGIO lists a removable helmet-carry strap on the Mach 5. These features may preserve internal cargo room during the walk from parking. Read their operating instructions and inspect how the helmet is supported.
An externally carried helmet changes the bag's width and balance while walking. Consider doors, crowded public transport and where the helmet sits when you put the bag down. If you mainly want weather protection or a tidy shape in busy spaces, enclosed carrying may better match the routine.
A visor sleeve does not store a helmet
The Mach 5 separately lists an interior visor sleeve. That is storage for a visor, not a helmet compartment. Product listings sometimes place both features close together, so identify exactly what each pocket or attachment is intended to hold.
Likewise, a stretch front panel is not automatically a manufacturer-approved helmet carrier. It may be intended for wet gear or small layers. Seek an explicit description and instructions for the model instead of inferring its purpose from appearance.
Test the complete arrival load
Take the helmet and everything you normally bring into the destination to a fitting. Set up the carrier as instructed, walk with the loaded bag and check the access you still have to tickets, wallet and keys. For an enclosed design, confirm that expansion and normal closure both work.
The feature is worth paying for when it simplifies a frequent routine. If you carry the helmet only occasionally, a separate appropriate helmet bag may be easier to store and use. Choose according to the actual walk after parking; do not let a rarely used carrier determine every other part of the backpack.
