Measure the object you will actually pack
Measure the laptop's width, depth and thickness, including any protective case you plan to keep. Screen diagonals do not describe chassis dimensions, and two computers sold with the same screen size can fit differently. Ask for usable sleeve dimensions when the manufacturer does not provide them.
